This Saturday Shack session will be a meetup of the SDRSIG. We will demonstrate the automatic detection and extraction of signals using gr-inspector. To use gr-inspector we need to compile it as an OOT (Out Of Tree) Module so we will also show you how to use the PyBOMBS system to compile GNURadio and help getting all your dependencies for using OOT Modules. It is recommended to bring along your laptop loaded with Linux (eg Debian or Ubuntu 16.04) and your SDR to follow along!  

We are running a digital mode net, called FSQ Fridays from 20:00 Australian Eastern time on 2m USB – 145.225MHz. We may switch to FM at some point as some net users might only have FM capable stations. At 20:30 we will switch to 7104kHz USB. Feel free to join in. Check in online in our Matrix chat room at https://riot.im/app/#/room/#vk7:matrix.org especially if you need help or would like an online signal report if you are having trouble being heard. To use this mode, we recommend a recent version of Fldigi. The theme of this shack session is to help those new to digital modes to get their equipment ready for upcoming FSQ Friday nets.

We are having a forum on Dish Mounts and Dish Control systems. We currently have Rex VK7MO, Larry VK7WLH, Murray VK7ZMS, Richard VK7ZBX, Scott VK7LXX and Justin VK7TW coming along to give us their experiences in pictures and equipment. Scott will be giving us an update on his SatNOGS system too. Have you played with satellite dishes and dish control systems and think you can contribute then please come along on the night with equipment and/or pictures/video to share. There are many people in REAST who are doing, interested or considering satellite dishes for microwave, amateur satellite, TV applications, etc and this is intended to be a forum to share ideas and experiences with the group.
